Disney is a healthy company. They’ve recently entered the healthy foods industry by making some wholesome choices in the kitchen at their Parks and Resorts with the introduction of the “Mickey Check.” They also love exercise!
The whole Disney division called runDisney is solely dedicated to planning and holding marathons and races that add that touch of magic by allowing runners to run through the Disney theme parks and other places that regular guests don’t get to see everyday.
This year, Disneyland will be holding their yearly Half Marathon Weekend from August 30 to September 1. In addition to the regular races and runs, runDisney has announced that they will be adding a new 10K race (or a little over 6 miles) of timed running through Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and the streets of Anaheim.
As with all runDisney races, runners vie for some special Disney medals as well as the unique running environment as well. Registration for the 2013 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend begin on January 22.
You can register and find out more about runDisney and their other events they have throughout the year and at different Disney Parks by visiting their website HERE.
