It has only been a little over four months since the release of the highly anticipated new iteration of Star Wars Battlefront video game. While a majority of the reaction to the game has been positive, there are have been those fans who feel the game needs more in all categories.
Later this month, some of those additions will be coming in hopes to lure even more people to play in the Lucasfilm galaxy. Star Wars Battlefront – Outer Rim is the first digital expansion for the game and will include new players (or “heroes” like Greedo and Nien Nunb, as well as new missions, weapons and more.
From the looks of the release trailer, it seems as if the developers at Electronic Arts and DICE are once again gambling that maintaining the game’s connection to the films will get people to play the game, if not keep current gamers playing. It was something that was said repetitively during the pre-release game previews and media event spiels.
By allowing gamers to “be in Star Wars” and “live out your Star Wars fantasies” like controlling moments like Greedo v. Han Solo with this new DLC, we can expect more of the same from future expansions.
If that’s a good thing to retain and pull more gamers to Battlefront, know, we do not.
Star Wars Battlefront – Outer Rim will be available for download on March 22.
