The Tokyo Disney Resort has announced plans to add several new attractions to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. A press release unleashed today details plans for the new additions through the year 2020.
The new attractions include a new version of Soarin’, a Big Hero 6 ride, Minnie Mouse meet and greet, and a Beauty and the Beast Area.
Areas to be developed:
Beauty and the Beast Area (tentative name) concept art
The new addition to Fantasyland will feature a major attraction, a new 1,500 seat live theater, and new shops and restaurants. According to the press release, “Guests board enchanted serving dishes that dance in rhythm to the film’s well-known music and follow Belle on a romantic musical adventure inside the enchanted Castle where she dances her way into the heart of the Beast, just in time to break the fateful spell.”
Big Hero 6 spinner ride
Guests will be able to join their favorite healthcare companion in an “exciting musical ‘whip ride'” in Tomorrowland.
Concept art for new Soarin’s attraction
Soarin’ will be a new simulator attraction opening at Mediterranean Harbor in Tokyo DisneySea featuring various famous landscapes from around the world.
Minnie Mouse meet and greet
There will be a new meet and greet area for guests to meet Minnie Mouse in Toontown.
The development of the new area and facilities is expected to cost about 75 billion Japanese yen! Disney seems to be doing what they can to make guests of all parks’ experiences even better. Perhaps after these attractions prove successful in Tokyo they’ll add them to other Disney parks as well!
Look out for these and other Disney parks additions in the future.
