Maaark Twaaain!

Sometimes the best thing to do in a busy Disney Park is to just get away. Although that may seem impossible, there are a few places at each Disney Park that allow you to get away from the hustle and bustle of crowds and lines and if you’re at Disneyland Park, all you have to do is travel to the Rivers of America and make your way aboard the “Maark Twaaain.”

The Mark Twain Riverboat is a real working riverboat that travels around the Rivers of America on a 10+ minute expedition that takes you in the quiet, tree-filled backend of the park. The boat itself has ample outdoor and indoor seating on board perfect for you to just take a nap or enjoy the sights.

Although many of the guests on board will be doing that, the Riverboat captain cannot as he/she must be able to steer and guide the boat through the waters safely. Being captain though is pretty fun and is one of the more enjoyable roles at the Disneyland Resort. Meet Jen Holst in the video above who is a Twain Riverboat captain and find out why her role means so much to her.

The Mark Twain Riverboat operates during the day on most days. Be sure to check with a Cast Member to see if the Riverboat is sailing that day AND if you want to ride in the captain’s steer house while on board for some extra magical experiences!

Have any of you traveled aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat before? Do you also find it relaxing? Would any of you rather have Captain Holst job on board as a Disneyland cast member? Let us know in the comments.
