Disney Gift Cards: Give or Keep?

We usually don’t associate any meaning to gift cards aside from the monetary value they hold for us to use. After the card is used and there is no more money left on it, we toss them and that has always been the normal thing to do until now probably. Disney Gift Cards usually change in design throughout the year to celebrate different occasions, but this year’s holiday gift card has a new design that’ll actually make you want to keep the card even after the money in it is all gone…

Thanks to the help of mobile technology, this year’s gift card features a transparent background for the sole purpose of having it be put on top of a mobile phone screen. Why? So that your gift card becomes a picture-perfect winter wonderland complete with music and fireworks! It’s difficult to describe, so here’s a Vine that’ll show you what we mean:

Pretty cool huh? But the question remains! This is a great marketing tactic by Disney marketing in order for you to be pushed to spend money on their Company, but will it work? Will you keep the gift card like you would a greeting card? Regardless of what you end up doing, just know it doesn’t hurt spending money on anything Disney in the first place!

Will the new gift card draw you to get a Disney Gift Card for your significant other this Christmas season? Surely these creative designs were created to draw attention to the cards in general, but do you think making a gift card like this will get you down to Disneyland or Walt Disney World to get one this holiday season? Will you get one for yourself to use (and then perhaps keep)? Let us know in the comments!

I have a definite problem when it comes to holding on to things like these. I always seem to keep my Disney hotel room keys, gift cards, annual passes, etc. Its just so hard to throw them away! This is a cute idea with the mobile technology but I like what they are doing with the pin you get with some Holiday gift cards.
