Disney Meets Bollywood.

Disney stepped out of its comfort zone and co-produced a Hindi-language film, but still made their mark on it by still maintaining a ‘happily ever after’ atmosphere through its story.

Disney Khoobsurat Bollywood Film“Khoobsurat” (which means “beautiful” in Hindi) is a blend of Disney storytelling and Bollywood talent to produce a romantic comedy. Starring Fawad Khan as Vikram and Sonam Kapoor as Mili, both the love interests in the film, the movie is set in modern-day Rajasthan.

Still, “Khoobsurat” has everything that a typical Bollywood love story needs, from the recurring ‘average girl falls in love with successful businessman’ plotline to the family objections and numerous song and dance numbers. It isn’t a Bollywood movie without it all!

The Disney-ness of it comes when Mili Chakravarty (Sonam Kapoor), a goofy yet successful physiotherapist, is invited by a royal family to rehabilitate the king who has been in a wheelchair for years. Mili makes herself feel at home by becoming friends with majority of the household and falling for the prince,
Vikram.

The film keeps you entertained with the hilarious relationship between Mili and her mother, awkward yet romantic moments between Mili and her love interest, Vikram, and the frustration of Vikram’s mother who despises Mili for the majority of the film.

“Khoobsurat” is a must-see film for audiences of all ages and of all ethnicities! It will be able to relate to the characters and the story they’re playing out. It just goes to show that Disney’s memorable storytelling can create some magical moments for audiences across the globe, even in India!
