12 long years have come and gone since we first met Nemo and friends in the deep blue sea. Since then, there was always talk about having a sequel made. Even Ellen DeGeneres herself complained at the fact over the years, and today, her (and our) complaining ceased.
The first teaser trailer for Finding Dory was revealed this morning. The premise of the film, which was announced back in 2013, remains the same with Dory remembering her past and her quest to find that past, including her parents.
Ellen DeGeneres returns as the voice of Dory, and she will be accompanied by a new slate of voices and characters that was revealed at this year’s D23 Expo. Among them, Hank the Octopus will be played by Ed O’Neill, Bailey the Beluga Whale is voiced by Ty Burrell, and Destiny the Whale Shark voiced by Kaitlin Olson.
Veteran Pixar director Andrew Stanton returns as the director for the sequel.
We’re excited to see how all these characters will play a part in Dory’s “mindful” quest when the film swims into theaters on June 17, 2016.
