Here’s how you can enhance your ride experiences at Disneyland

When you go to Disneyland as much as I do, people tend to ask questions like, “Don’t you ever get sick of Disneyland?” or “Isn’t it all the same stuff?“. Of course, I always answer, “No, I always do something different when I go to the park,” which is technically true because each time I go to the park, it’s never the same experience. Some days I would ride as many attractions as I can and other times I would just walk around, watch a show, and maybe get something to eat.

I’ve been to the parks more times than I can count and experienced each ride enough to figure out ways to still have fun on them. Here are a few tricks I’ve learned to enhance your ride experience!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Goat Trick

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a pretty great ride on its own. However, almost everyone overlooks the goat as just a part of the scenery when in fact, he’s the best part of the whole ride! As you descend from the top of the second hill, there is a goat with dynamite in its mouth. If you stare at the goat from the top of the hill to the bottom until he is no longer in sight, you will get butterflies in your tummy that can’t help but make you laugh!

Note: This trick works the best if you are seated in the last cart of the roller coaster.

Tower of Terror Scare Tactics

The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror can already scare some people, but for those who aren’t afraid of it, there is a way to make it a bit scarier. My friend told me about this trick and when I did it, it sure made the ride a whole different experience. Be sure to look down past the floor the whole time to get a more intense ride out of it.

Indiana Jones Test Dummy Experiment

After years of riding Indiana Jones attraction, I discovered this trick that is a little obnoxious, but so much fun if you get your whole convoy into it. All you have to do is throw your hands up, lift your feet, and let the pull of gravity guide you. You’ll be whipping back and forth just like a test dummy. It might sound weird, but its definitely fun. I cannot stress enough though that while you let the motion guide your body, be careful to not hit anyone in the vicinity.

Mad Tea Party Tea Cup Tip

The teacups are always fun. You get everyone to spin the center wheel as fast as they can so you can all spin faster and faster. This isn’t so much a trick, but more so as a tip: the plain lavender tea cup will spin you the fastest.

Francis’ Ladybug Boogie

Francis’ Ladybug Boogie is a gem in “a bugs’ land”. It’s like a mild version of the tea cups, but with ladybugs. There is a little trick to make this ride better though. If your party sits leaning towards the door, the momentum of the ride whips faster.

Astro Orbiter Momentum Magic

The Astro Orbiter is a great ride that feels pretty fast already, but there is a way to make it feel even faster. Start at the top of the ride and lean all the way back as you descend to the bottom. The pull makes it feel like you’re about to fly out of the rocket. It’s enough to make you think that you’ve actually become an astronaut!
