Let’s talk about that Main Street Electrical Parade commercial you saw during the Golden Globes

You probably were watching the Golden Globes last night (congrats to Blackish and Zootopia for their wins!) and saw something you probably weren’t thinking to see: a commercial from Disneyland.

While it debuted a few days earlier in time for the new year, it wasn’t some any standard commercial either. It was a convincing commercial pumped with nostalgia that lead to feels. It was created to highlight the return of the classic Main Street Electrical Parade on January 20. The parade’s return has been building with excitement since it was first announced a few months ago, but this recent TV spot solidified people’s love.

Watch the entire commercial above, created by Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group. Can you name all the past attractions and shows featured in the commercial?

First debuting in 1972 at Disneyland Park, the parade was known for a variety of things including the electronic synthesized yet catchy music and of thousands of lights that made up each float that featured classic Disney animated scenes brought to life in stunning light at night. The parade left in 1996 to play an extended run at Walt Disney World in Florida.

With the success of Paint the Night, a modern version of the Main Street Electrical Parade that debuted for Disneyland’s 60th anniversary, people were surprised to hear that the 60th anniversary parade would leave, but were equally surprised to hear of the original parade’s return.

While people online continue to speculate on the return, the consensus is that Disneyland will continue to bring back past experiences throughout the year. “Remember, Dreams Come True”, the 50th anniversary fireworks spectacular was also announced to return on February 3.

Both the “Remember, Dreams Come True” fireworks show and the Main Street Electrical Parade are being teased of only playing for a limited time with no specific end date announced.
