10 Best Easter eggs in Disney films
Easter eggs are hidden gems in Disney films. Animators work on these films for long periods of time and like to sneak in little jokes and references for fans to discover. From fairly well-known references to incredibly detailed ones that even hardcore Disney fans can’t recognize these little surprises are ones that viewers always enjoy finding. Although some of us may not celebrate Easter, you can have a movie marathon and try looking for these Disney Easter eggs.
The beauty of Disney films is that we never get tired of watching them. After re-watching a movie, we begin to notice the details behind the clever references or jokes that animators hide.
I sorted through some of Disney’s/Pixar’s animated films to bring you 10 of the best classic Disney Easter eggs from animated films to Pixar.
1. Pizza Planet truck in Pixar films
Via Slash Film
A true classic. The truck first appeared in Toy Story and has made a cameo in almost all of their films since then. However, there isn’t any official confirmation for its appearance in The Incredibles.
2. Mrs. Potts in Tarzan
Via bplusmovieblog
One of the most obvious Easter eggs, but still clever when Turk jams on a tea set that looks exactly like Mrs. Potts and Chip from Beauty and the Beast.
3. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in Frozen
Via E!Online
You can see Rapunzel (with her dashing new hairstyle) and Flynn arriving at Arandelle for Elsa’s coronation!
4. Scar in Hercules
Via BuzzFeed
Another pretty obvious one but still funny to see Scar as a rug after he tried taking over Pride Rock in The Lion King.
5. Pixar shorts references in Toy Story 1 and 2
Via MTV.com
Via Movie Easter Eggs Tumblr
We can’t forget about the small, incredible details Pixar puts into their shorts. What a creative way to incorporate them in the films!
6. Magic carpet in Princess and the Frog
Via Disney Wiki
In the opening scene of Princess and the Frog, we can see a woman on a balcony dusting out a carpet that just so happens to be the magic carpet from Aladdin.
7. Jock, Peg and Trusty in Oliver & Company
Via Finding Mickey
Nice to see some of our favorite canines from Lady and the Tramp make a small cameo.
8. A113 and the Luxo Ball in Pixar films
Via Daily Mail
Via Gamesradar
Of course Pixar includes these references in their films. A113 can be placed in as a number on a license plate, to the room Mr. Incredible was being held in, or various other cameos. The significance of A113 is that it was the classroom in the California Institute of the Arts in which animators like Brad Bird and John Lasseter did graphic design and animation. We also can’t forget about the famous Luxo ball making it’s appearances in almost all of their films.
9. Pinocchio in Tangled
Via Buzzfeed
10. Breaking Bad in Zootopia
There are two sheep named Walter and Jesse in a cool lab scene that was hilariously well done. That is all. (To avoid any spoilers if you haven’t seen the movie yet).
