10 things from Shanghai Disney Resort that we’re looking forward to the most
Shanghai Disney Resort finally opens tomorrow, June 16th. After many months of hearing so much about it, concept art will finally turn into reality as Disney opens their latest and most technologically progressive park so far. People are already raving about the park, learning more through pictures early guests have taken and experiencing rides through Youtube videos. Our friend Dakota McKinnon has even put together a detailed reflection on what we’ve already seen about Shanghai through social media.
While we don’t know everything about Shanghai Disneyland yet, we do know a great amount about the food, the rides, and the resort itself. If you still haven’t bought into the excitement, check out some of the things we’re looking forward to so you can see why Shanghai has become the Shang-hype.
Shanghai Disneyland has the biggest Disney castle to date
and all the shops, entertainment, and visually stunning architecture we’ll see inside. The castle even has a ride built into it!
Disneytown, the Shanghai Disney Resort’s equivalent of Downtown Disney or Disney Springs
We’re ready for those brand new shops, restaurants, and entertainment centers!
The huge man-made lake, paths, and gardens
Food that “respect[s] the Chinese traditional diet”
Including pork-stuffed mooncakes, braised pork knuckle in soy sauce, and shrimp with scrambled egg. Shanghai sounds like a Disney foodie’s paradise.
The 6 lands, including the brand new Mickey Avenue and Treasure Cove
We can finally live our dreams of riding a lightcycle!
The dinosaur in the new Roarin’ Rapids ride
The ride takes you right into the heart of battle and, from what we’ve seen, looks incredibly real.
On demand ticket pricing
Tickets after the grand opening cost just $56!
The grand opening (which you can watch from your living room!)
It’ll feature guests, entertainment, and special performances from talent all over the world!
The park’s grand opening, airing tomorrow and Friday on all of Disney’s television channels, promises to be the beginning of what looks to be a wonderful experience for any Disney fan. These things only get us more and more excited at the thought of a brand new Disney park – hopefully we’ll all get to experience them in real life soon.
