A Closer Look At Shanghai’s Disney.

Earlier this month, Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger revealed to the Company’s shareholders at their annual meeting a digital model of Shanghai Disney Resort, the latest addition to the Disney Parks portfolio.

Shanghai Disney Resort will be the second Disney Park in China and will be built similarly to the rest of the Disney Parks with a hub (seen above) and the rest of the Lands around it. We don’t know the exact details on the Lands, but we do have more info on the hub.

It will be 11 acres with a unique Chinese take of a world-famous Disney design. At the center of the hub will be Enchanted Storybook Castle, a combination of all Disney castles representing all Disney princesses. It will be multi-level with a large atrium inside. It will be the largest Disney castle in any Disney Park – so large that it will even hold a portion of a boat ride attraction!

The castle itself is already a signal that this Disney Park will be like no other and will be ready to “wow” any guest, Chinese or not, who enter her gates at the end of 2015.

We’re hoping to cover the grand opening in a few years…
