2013 Disneyland Resort Christmas: a Wrap-up + Premiere of “World of Color – Winter Dreams”

It happens to be our favorite time of year and we trust that it’ll be your favorite time of year as well when you visit the Disneyland Resort this year for the holiday season!

Just yesterday, we had the opportunity to take part in yet another Disneyland Resort press event where we had the chance get a more personal and in-depth look at what Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park has to offer us this Christmas season lasting until January 6.

We have returning favorites like the classic decorations on Buena Vista Street in DCA and Main Street USA at Disneyland Park plus entertainment like “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular, but we do have a few new things that are certainly presents for anyone who makes it down here to receive them.

The highlight of our event was the world premiere of the holiday overlay of the E-ticket nighttime spectacular. “World of Color – Winter Dreams” is the first major revision of the water and light show in Paradise Bay and guests who see this new show are certainly in for another treat if they loved the classic show that debuted just 3 year ago!

The new show involves a new musical score and new animations that tell the story of season in 4 acts each with its own theme! Although the story may seem so clouded when you first watch the show, it still carries its own through its new stunning visuals and special effects, as well as through the show’s host Olaf – the silly snowman from Disney’s upcoming animated film “Frozen” (due out November 27).

UPDATE 11/17: Here’s full video of the world premiere including the pre-show featuring chief creative Steve Davison and actor Josh Gad (voice of Olaf the Snowman from Disney’s “Frozen”)! Thanks for your patience. We’re sure it was worth the wait…because we had the best spot for it!

After the show, we were able to interview two very important people from both new experiences!

First up, here’s our video interview with parades and spectaculars executive for The Walt Disney Company Steve Davison who gives us insight at the development of the new holiday show, as well as some of the new things that guests like you should see!

**Be sure to also check out how we were able to control the World of Color fountains with just an iPad with our extended interview with Steve by clicking HERE!**

Second, here’s our video interview with Susana Tubert who is the creative director for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. She tells us more about Viva Navidad and what it means to having it as a part of Disney holidays!

After the event, we were treated to a party that gave off some heat during the yesterday’s chilly night! That heat came from the new experience called Viva Navidad – a celebration of the holiday season with a lot of hispanic flare! Through the story of Disney’s classic Three Calbarellors, Disney California Adventure brings to life that story through a new street parade, cultural classes, and even a new menu! And best part of all, you don’t need to be hispanic to enjoy it all. Be sure to stop by the Paradise Gardens area in Disney California Adventure Park throughout the day and see how you can add some sizzle to your season!

These two things alone are reasons alone that you all should make it down to the Resort this holiday season. Even if you’ve been to the theme parks before during this time of year, you can bet your next visit will have all your returning favorite Christmas things as well as new things that’ll have you coming back for more!

Holidays at the Disneyland Resort just really happens to be the gift that just keeps on giving. Will you be receiving?
