“Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular” by the numbers

Not even Genie can save the famous “Aladdin” musical from leaving Disney California Adventure Park at the end of the week. Until then, we can only reflect on the goodness and theatrical magic that the show brought us all during its 12 year run at the Hyperion Theater.

12 years isn’t the only big number that the show has garnered! Here are a few more fun number facts about “Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular”.

It has been performed over 14,000 times since its debut.

18 original performers from the first company have remained with the show.

The show is 45 minutes in length.

36 cast members work during each performance (actors, backstage, directors, etc.).

There are 48 custom scenery pieces.

Disney Legend and composer Alan Menken wrote the score for the show in under 72 hours.

Be sure to catch the final showing of the beloved musical before the final curtain drops on January 10, 2016. The theater will then be modified to house a new “Frozen” production set to debut “in summer” 2016.
