AquaDucky Derbies.
Remember the Disneyland Cast Member rubber duck races that were held at the its a small world attraction last month? If you were like many of us who do, didn’t you wish you could race your own rubber duck in Disney fashion? Well, a few regular Disney guests were able to do just that where rubber ducks can also call home – on the open ocean…but more specifically, the ships of the Disney Cruise Line!
The AquaDucky Derby was an almost exact imitation of the its a small world duck races in that you had people racing decorated rubber duckies on a Disney attraction for a great cause. For the guests racing the ducks on board the Disney Cruise ships, they got to race their ducks on the only water coaster at sea called the AquaDuck (and hence the name of the race). Take a look at the video above to see guests and crew members race!
Most importantly, the AquaDuck Derbies helped raise over $14,000 for the great charity Make-A-Wish International which strives itself in making dreams come true for kids who are less fortunate and are going through some debilitating illnesses.
In partnership with Disney’s great VoluntEARS program, which celebrated its 30th anniversary a few weeks ago, Disney Cruise Line lately has been playing a major part in giving back to their guest communities. More recently, Disney Cruise Line crew members also presented a life-sized mural of Ariel, The Little Mermaid, to a hospital in Spain bringing joy to those who are ill.

We are also happy to see every part of The Walt Disney Company give back in their unique ways, including now Disney Cruise Line! Do you appreciate the corporate citizenship that Disney does through its many divisions? Do you think it’s just good publicity to make you want to go and use their products and services even more?
