Attractions you should take a date on at Disneyland

Going to a theme park on a date can tell a lot about the person you’re with, especially when it comes to going on a ride with them. It can be a little nerve-wracking to choose what rides to go on, especially on a first date.

In honor of Valentine’s Day coming up, I’ve compiled up a list on what I think are generally the best rides to go on with your date, especially for first dates to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Personally, I have my own favorite rides but these choices are the ones that I feel are generally some of the best rides for a date. So, I took a Disney date trip with my boyfriend to confirm these rides are good choices. (These rides are not in any particular order).

#1 King Arthur’s Carousel

A carousel is a classic romantic ride that you and your date can enjoy. You can sit on one of the magnificent horses and hold hands while you enjoy the view of Fantasyland. Plus, if you’re lucky, you’ll get to hear some live music while on the ride!

#2 Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters/Toy Story Mania

A little friendly competition is always fun on a date. You’ll get to help defeat Zurg on Astro Blasters or play a variety of carnival games with the rest of the Toy Story gang. You can turn the ride into a friendly wager or whoever gets the lower score buys a Dole Whip. Either way, you can’t go wrong with these fun rides.

#3 Mickey’s Fun Wheel

What’s a romantic ride without going on a Ferris wheel? Mickey’s Fun Wheel definitely gives you that romantic experience as you move all the way to the top and look over DCA. You can either choose a swinging gondola to add some excitement or a non-swinging gondola to relax with your date.

#4 Mad Hatter Tea Party

Don’t be late for your very important date on the teacups! They are an absolute must on a Disneyland trip. (As long as you don’t get dizzy easily.) They’re a great ride to enjoy with your date where you two can work together as a team to be the fastest teacup or just take turns on spinning.

#5 Haunted Mansion

This may not be on everyone’s list of romantic places in Disneyland, but there’s something about the dark, and mysterious nature of the ride that some find romantic. Also, you can visit all of the grim grinning ghosts and cuddle up close to your sweetheart in the “doom buggies”.

Of course, everyone has a different preference for rides and don’t like the same ones. However I feel like these rides are good to go on with any date. The great thing about the parks is that there are rides for practically everyone, so there are plenty of options. All that truly matters is that you enjoy the time with your special someone.
