Disney Princess-Inspired Hairstyles [Back-To-School Series]
It’s that time again…back to school! I don’t know about you, but I have never been the “go to school in sweat pants” girl. And more props to the girls who do, but I need to feel my best and dress for success, head to toe. You do not need to be a royalty to pull off these modern-day hairstyles, inspired by your favorite Disney princesses. Let’s begin!
1. Leia
I am sorry to disappoint you, but these are not the buns you are looking for. Princess Leia has so many other trendy hairstyles from a galaxy far, far away that we can rep’ here on planet Earth. Her braids caught our attention on the icy planet Hoth in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Beware, these might catch the attention of some half witted, scruffy-looking nerf-herders.
2. Snow White
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? Well, Snow White of course! Anytime that I can rock a headband or bow, I am all in! Grab an apple on the way to class and rock it old school with this OG look. Who says you need to have short hair or long hair to do a certain hairstyle? Nowadays, we have the freedom of using extensions or pinning your hair up. My favorite thing is when people freak out, thinking you’ve chopped off all your hair. Try it!
3. Rapunzel
Don’t be scared to let down your hair with this look. This is for the showstoppers at school that do not mind a couple double-takes from onlookers. If you do not have four red-headed cuties on hand to help you braid like Rapunzel did, no worries! This look is super simple.
(Don’t mind my pug, Indy, trying to eat all of the flowers off my hair. Just like Rapunzel’s pet chameleon, Pascal, my puppy is always by my side.)
4. Tinkerbell
She might not be a princess, but she does have the glitz and glamour of one. This Disney fairy has one go-to look for every occasion. The high bun has made its debut appearance this summer and is here to stay for the school year. To make this look easy, pick up a hairstyling donut bun at your local beauty shop.
5. Belle
If there is one thing we know about Belle, she loves to read. Dive into your textbooks at the library with this perfect half-up, half-down hairdo. Intelligence is key to becoming a modern-day princess at heart. This doesn’t mean you cannot look glamorous while getting your education on. Beauty and intelligence, Belle had it all. So can you!
Dress how you feel and how you want to be perceived. I truly do believe that these hairstyles boosted my confidence and they can make you feel like a real-life princess, too.
