Bye Bye, Billy and Your Hillbillies.

We think the more unique things that make Disney Parks great is that its comfortable with change. For the past 58 years, Disneyland Park has lead the way with expansions and improvements that make coming to Disneyland always different no matter what time of year you decide to visit.

But with incoming of new things comes the outgoing of classic things. Whether it be attractions or characters, there initially is a sadness when you can’t ride what was one of your favorite attractions or chat it up with your favorite Disney character anymore. For many of us though, the most impact can be felt when we can’t see our favorite live show anymore and just recently, Disneyland announced that a classic live piece of entertainment will be retired.

Billy Hill and the Hillbillies have been entertaining guests, young and old, with the sounds of the Old West as well as familiar sounds we know tied with an Old West feel. They played songs, danced around, and even had us just take a seat and listen. The magic of Disneyland certainly also came from these guys, but we have and will always appreciate the 20 years that they have entertained us. Here’s hoping their end will come out with good change for Walt’s original Magic Kingdom!

If you haven’t had the chance to meet or listen to these guys perform, you certainly should make your way down to the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree or Golden Horseshoe Saloon to do so before their final performances set to take place on Monday, January 6, 2014!

We’ve included a video of them performing above so you can see how these guys will indeed be missed by those who have heard them just once or a hundred times. Have you heard Billy Hill and the Hillbillies perform? What made them so special to you? What do you think could replace them (if anything)? Let us know in the comments.
