Candy Mountains Are Real!

Well, maybe just at Disney California Adventure and just as a window display in an upcoming candy store on Buena Vista Street.

Disney has announced that the new Trolley Treats candy shop will be the place where you can buy various candies of course, but will also be the place to view a blast from Disney past. The picture above is concept art of what was to be the scenery that the Casey Jr. Circus Train attraction in Fantasyland was suppose to travel through.

Appropriately named Rock Candy Mountain, it consisted of various candy-inspired scenes like Rio Fudge and Dew Drop Hills. Unfortunately, the idea never left the drawing board in 1957 when it was “dreamed of” by an Imagineer.

As we reported during our sneak peak of Buena Vista Street at the D23 Expo last year, elements like this that reflect the beginnings of Walt Disney’s journey to create magic will be scattered throughout Buena Vista Street.

Although we’ll only be able to eat with our eyes, we’re excited to see a long lost idea come true!

In addition to Trolley Treats, Disney also announced the names of the other shops to open up around it that include Kingswell Camera Shop, Julius Katz & Sons, and Atwater Ink and Paint (we aren’t sure what will be sold at the last two shops). In any case, all will be revealed on June 15 when Buena Vista Street opens!
