CHOC’s Minnie Walk.

As many of you know, this year’s CHOC Walk, the yearly walking event held at Disneyland benefiting Children’s Hospital of Orange County, will be taking place just a little less than a month from now. We are so happy to be partnering with the Hospital in hopes that we can tell their story and their unknown yet rich history they have with Disney and raise awareness of the Walk and who it directly benefits.

Just this past Thursday, we were invited to an event that gave us the chance to meet these wonderful beneficiaries. The Minnie Walk was a mini version of the main CHOC Walk where children (and their parents) who are at CHOC right now getting care got to have some not-so-mini fun time! It really was an opportunity for the kids, some of whom cannot leave the hospital due to their illness, to experience what makes the Walk so special and magical with the help of Disney, of course!

The event took place in the new lobby of the new tower that was made possible through the generous donations of our friends at the Disneyland Resort. With Minnie Mouse herself leading the way through the large lobby and past the many fun stations staffed by CHOC’s wonderful partners, the children of CHOC came and walked.

As we took pictures and talked with the children and their families, one thing was immediately clear. This wasn’t a Disney event. This was a kids event. Because that’s why CHOC and the CHOC Walk exist and Disney was just offering what they do best – entertaining kids (and their parents)! Entertaining them in hopes that it’ll make their days at a hospital a little less painful and a whole lot more magical and from what we saw and heard that day, we’re pretty sure that’s a dream come true for all who attended.

And we’re hoping to help continue make many of these kid’s dreams come true too as Team DisneyExaminer will be taking part in this year’s CHOC Walk on October 13 and we’re inviting you to join us as walkers and supporters!
