Conversation about the new theme park experience amid COVID-19 with Brady MacDonald
Theme parks are beginning to announce their reopenings around the globe, including Disney. Walt Disney World is scheduled to reopen in a phased approach on Saturday, July 11, 2020 with Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park reopening first and some of their resort hotels opening sooner. Disney’s other theme parks as well as other themed operations will be announcing their phased reopenings in the coming weeks after having been closed for months due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
Theme Park Experience Won’t Be The Same
The news comes as good news for many who have missed visiting Disney’s parks and resorts these past few months or those who had plans of vacationing there, but while the magic will be returning, it won’t be the same.
The experience will be forever changed in a time where Coronavirus is still present and can be easily spread among huddled masses. That is why before entering any of the resort Disney properties, you’ll be required to wear a face covering, get temperature checked, and maintain 6-foot physical distancing – all on top of the traditional bag checks.
We had the opportunity to speak with the Disney beat reporter for the OC Register (the local paper serving the region in and around Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California) about this new experience and how it’ll affect visits into the future. It will be interesting to experience something that was designed to give us a break from the real world see the real world come through.
