D23’s New Website

Our friends at D23 are approaching their busy days this time of year with lots of events going on celebrating the fact they are indeed the official Disney fan club. Being the official fan club of the The Walt Disney Company, they have an endless amount of things they could reveal (or not reveal) to keep Disney fans both entertained and wanting more. And that’s clearly the case as fan club participants continue to grow as well as their desire to see more exclusive Disney content.

To keep up with that Disney demand, D23 revealed their new website which debuted yesterday and includes a whole new design as well as a lot more exclusive Disney content that the public has never seen before! The new website allows D23 members to create a login which will act as their “key” to the new magic that’s only available to them when they login.

The new site content also includes –

• Exclusive Audiocast Interviews with Ginnifer Goodwin of Once Upon A Time and the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz of Phineas and Ferb

• Disney A to Z – A complete and newly-updated electronic version of the definitive Disney encyclopedia with more than 7,000 entries written by Dave Smith, founder and Chief Archivist Emeritus of the Walt Disney Archives

• A selection of new member-exclusive discounts and special events

• Disney Legends and theWalt Disney Archives – Two new microsites; Disney Legends will provide a deeper look at those who’ve made significant contributions to the Disney legacy, and the Archives site will open up the doors of this venerable institution so D23 can share more of The Walt Disney Company’s expansive collections.

To launch the new site, D23 made a post that showcased unreleased pictures from Walt Disney’s personal camera like the one above. Among the rare photos are the actual pictures of Walt Disney’s daughters on a Griffith Park merry-go-round which were taken the same day Walt sat on a bench, ate peanuts, watched his daughter play, and dreamed up what was to be The Happiest Place on Earth.
