Disney attractions that should be the next big blockbusters
Last week we talked about Disney movies that were inspired by Disney attractions. Well, we couldn’t help but wonder about what other rides we would like to see go on the big screen! Here are the Top 5 Disney attractions that should be made into movies.
Space Mountain
Space Mountain would be a perfect attraction to turn into a feature film! For all you sci-fi fans out there, this would serve as a great movie revolving around space exploration! Picture Channing Tatum playing a space voyager who goes off on an epic adventure exploring mysterious planets. It would make one awesome summer blockbuster!
Mark Twain Riverboat
Why not bring the stories written by this famous storyteller to the silver screen? Mark Twain was a literary icon! From The Adventures of Tom Sawyer to Adventures of Huckleberry Finn these were some of my favorite books to read growing up. I can imagine a group of teenagers going on the riverboat ride and being transported into one of these classic stories!
Matterhorn Bobsleds
This film could follow a similar plot to this popular ride, with the main antagonist being the Abominable Snowman. The film could follow a team of explorers that take an expedition up Mount Everest and have an encounter with this creature! This adventure film could go several directions with the storyline being much like the attraction itself! This film would definitely be a crowd favorite.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
An indoor/outdoor mine train roller coaster located in Frontierland at Disneyland would make perfect sense for a western movie. Western movies aren’t too popular right, so this could be the movie that can change all of that. It would be cool to see a storyline that focused on people who go to an old ghost town, and stumble upon an old broken down train called “Big Thunder.” Once they board the train it takes them back to Old American West where they have to deal with cowboys and indians!
Mad Tea Party
The ride’s theme is inspired by the “unbirthday party” scene in Disney’s Alice In Wonderland. The Mad Hatter is a well-known character from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland novel. A movie about the Mad Hatter’s past would be an interesting movie to see. Like Maleficent (2014) the audience can take a look at this character’s childhood, and find out how he ended up in Wonderland! Questions like: what is the story behind his name? Why does he ask unanswerable riddles? Why does he recite nonsensical poetry? would be all answered in this movie!
It is always fun seeing your favorite Disney attractions tell a bigger story. We love seeing some of Disneyland’s most popular attractions become movies and vice versa! Which Disney attraction would you like to see be turned into a blockbuster hit?
