Disney Parks and Resorts top most checked-in places on Facebook for 2015
In Facebook’s nifty “Year in Review” feature released this week, the site revealed the top places that its 1.55 billion users checked in globally in 2015. Of course, Disney Parks and Resorts headed the list! And with having garnered the top spot last year and having five resorts across the world, it comes to no surprise.
Wondering what the runner-up was? Here’s the full list:
Disney Properties
Universal Studios Properties
Times Square, New York City
Eiffel Tower
Niagara Falls
Siam Paragon
Grand Canyon National Park
Yosemite National Park
The Louvre
Central Park
Beto Carrero World
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London
Gardens by the Bay
Marina Bay Sands
Ibirapuera Park
Hollywood Walk of Fame
Madison Square Park
Santa Monica Pier
Camp Nou
Expo Milano 2015
The same trend was also seen on the mobile photo–sharing app, Instagram, this year with Disney and Universal theme parks being the top two most geotagged locations. Undoubtedly, social networks like Facebook and Instagram are a great marketing tool for gauging public interest and engaging with consumers. It is also an excellent platform for creating communities with shared interests like, for example, going to Disneyland.
As we head into the new year and with Hogwarts Castle coming to Hollywood, do you think Disney will hold onto its number one spot? (We’re looking at you, Universal).
