Pixar’s Five Year Plan.
We told you earlier this year that our friends at Pixar are in the process of creating more of their incomparable films for the next four years. We called it the Pixar Four Year Plan as the animation powerhouse would be releasing one film for the next four years.
Today, we’re going to have to change that name to the Pixar Five Year Plan as Pixar did announce to the world that they would be pushing back the release date of two of their new films. Disney*Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur” will be pushed back to 2015 and “Finding Dory” will be pushed back to Summer 2016.
It comes as a surprise for many as these two films, which were highly anticipated after having been previewed at the 2013 D23 Expo, seemed to be on their ways. Although many have speculated on why the change is happening, our sources are saying that both films, but mainly “The Good Dinosaur” needs the extra time to develop its story.
So that leaves us with no Pixar film for 2014, but there is some good news out of all of this! The Walt Disney Studios announced that they would be pushing up the release of “Maleficent,” their live-action film telling the story of the infamous character from Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” starring Angelina Jolie, to the now former release date of “The Good Dinosaur” on May 30, 2014.

We’ll keep watching this story as it develops, but in the meantime what do you all think of the changes? Are you sad to see no Pixar film in 2014 or are you glad to see they’re taking the time to make the “right” movie? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
