Disney to celebrate 20 years on Broadway with ABC TV special

Later this December, Disney will celebrate an occasion with lots of singing and dancing and rightfully so!

“Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years” is a primetime TV special that will celebrate Disney’s presence within the stage musical community with a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to put on a magical performance on stage. Disney Theatrical Productions began with opening night of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway in 1994 and has grown to include other adaptations like “Aladdin” and “Mary Poppins”.

Being hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson of ABC’s “Modern Family”, the hour-long special will also include some exclusive performances from the current musicals playing as well as on tour like the Tony award-winning “Newsies”.

It will air on ABC on Sunday, December 14 at 7 PM e/p.
