Bears.

We do write about most of the divisions of the vast and magical Walt Disney Company including the film division of The Walt Disney Studios.

In writing and reviewing these Disney films, we cannot forget about the lesser known films that Studios release aside from the big titles from Marvel and such. In particular, we’re talking about the series of films from Disneynature.

The Disneynature films showcase, well, nature! But we know you’re already thinking – what sets these films apart from other nature films? Well we can tell you these films won’t throw in Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie into the wild (although we’re sure that would be entertaining), but these films are unique in that they tell stories through what’s in nature.

Disney is known for their storytelling and in Disneynature’s upcoming release of their newest film called “Bears,” you’ll see just that – storytelling using nature. In this case the bears that roam in nature.

Here’s the synopsis of the film that really highlights what we’re talking about –

In an epic story of breathtaking scale, Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure “Bears” showcases a year in the life of two mother bears as they impart life lessons to their impressionable young cubs. Set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, their journey begins as winter comes to an end and the bears emerge from hibernation to face the bitter cold. The world outside is exciting—but risky—as the cubs’ playful descent down the mountain carries with it a looming threat of avalanches. As the season changes from spring to summer, the brown bear families must work together to find food—ultimately feasting at a plentiful salmon run—while staying safe from predators, including an ever-present wolf pack. “Bears” captures the fast-moving action and suspense of life in one of the planet’s last great wildernesses—where mothers definitely know best and their cubs’ survival hinges on family togetherness.

Pretty cool, huh? We hope to watch the film soon and bring you one of our famous SPOILER-FREE reviews before the public release date on April 18, 2014.

Until then, enjoy the preview in the video above.
