Enjoy this exclusive documentary on Richard Sherman, Disney songwriter and music magician
Richard M. Sherman is a name you should know as a Disney fan or a music lover.
For over 60 years, Sherman, along with his late brother Robert, have written some of the world’s most familiar tunes for movies, TV, and theme parks. Among their most notable projects are the ones they did for Walt Disney. They were the songwriters behind Disney’s “Mary Poppins” and attractions like it’s a small world at Disneyland park in Anaheim, CA.
Now after all the years inspiring the world through their music, Richard Sherman is continuing to spread he and his brother’s legacy by inspiring the next generation of songwriters, actors, writers, and storytellers to do the same.
One of those ways he’s doing that is by visiting schools for very special masterclass events. One of those events recently occurred at the Orange County School for the Arts (OCSA) in southern California. Together with actress and singer Susan Egan (“Beauty & The Beast” on Broadway, Disney’s “Hercules”) and actor and singer Bret Shuford (“Beauty & The Beast” & “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” on Broadway), Sherman shared his tips and stories of success.
We are excited to share with you a mini documentary to recap the intimate masterclass. Richard’s goal was to inspire the students to really follow their dreams and that there really can be a “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow.” We hope that you, too, will find some inspiration from this presentation and Richard Sherman’s inspiring words and resonating music.
Our special thanks to Richard Sherman, Susan Egan, Bret Shuford, Bruce Kimmel, and the staff and students of OCSA for allowing us to share this event with the world.
