Faire Or No Faire?

As we reported from the D23 Expo last year, we were given the news that Disneyland would be closing the historic landmark that is the Carnation Plaza Gardens. The Gardens will close in order to make way for Fantasy Faire, “an enchanting village square that will immerse guests in the stories of their favorite princesses.”

While the Resort is looking to make the best use of its spaces, we’re saddened to see the Gardens go. It was always a place where you could nap, relax, or even take an awesome picture of Sleeping Beauty Castle amid the busyness of Disneyland. It was a place that Walt Disney personally loved.

The Gardens also held a long standing tradition of holding swing dancing on select nights where many guests, including some couples who’ve been dancing there for 25+ years, got to dance the night away with GOOD music. Although it will be moved to a stage in Downtown Disney, we feel the intimacy and environment that the Gardens gave will surely be noticed.

If you haven’t seen this little known event, be sure to do so before it gets moved. The last dance will take place at the Plaza Gardens Stage on April 30.
