Frankenweenie Meets DCA
Since the Hollywood premiere of Frankenweenie was yesterday evening, we wanted to bring up your attention to the wonderful art exhibition showcasing the figurines and sets that were used in the making of this film!
‘Frankenweenie’ tells the story of a boy and his very beloved dog and the boy’s attempt to revive the dog after an unfortunate accident. The film, directed by Tim Burton, utilizes stop motion (think Gumby) filmmaking and if you know anything about stop motion, creating a full-length feature film takes a lot of time and attention to detail.
Now on display, guests to the new Disney California Adventure Park will be able to see the various pieces of “art” that it took to create the film in a new traveling exhibit.
From now until November 5, “The Art of Frankenweenie Exhibition” will be inside Hollywood Land where guests can see original sketches, props, sets, and puppets all from the creative mind of Tim Burton.
The exhibit started in Barcelona, Spain on June 18 and by the time it hits Disney California Adventure, the exhibit will have visited 7 different countries including France, England, Japan, Mexico, and finally the U.S.A.
