“Frozen” makes $1 billion in box office sales worldwide

The cold never bothered box office sales for the 53rd animated film from the Walt Disney Animation Studios as the heat that the now Oscar-winning film has yet to die down! That heat has generated over $1 billion in worldwide box office sales since its initial release in the United States on November 27, 2013. Some other fun facts about the numbers for “Frozen” include:

• As of this writing, it has made $388.8 million domestically and $611.5 million internationally

• It’s the Walt Disney Studios’ 7th release to cross the $1 billion mark; others include Marvel’s “The Avengers, and “Toy Story 3”

• It’s the first animated feature Oscar for Walt Disney Animation Studios
