Create your own Dapper Disneybound look with vintage and thrifted pieces [DIY Disney Fashion]

Earlier, we gave you a guide to shopping for vintage Disney apparel at your local vintage shops. Today, we guide you on how to incorporate vintage or second-hand pieces for a “Dapper Disneybound” look just in time for this spring’s Dapper Day event at the Disneyland Resort. Shopping vintage or thrifted is not only frugal. With a little bit of luck and lots of patience, you can find some of the most rare pieces at a bargain.

For instance, shops like Memo’s Vintage and Buffalo Exchange in Downtown Fullerton have a considerable collection of vintage fashion from the 20s-70s, as well as second-hand pieces that can be styled for a vintage look.

Here are our vintage/thrifted finds and how we styled them for a “Dapper Disneybound” look:

Classic Snow White

This Dapper Day, why not add some classic flair to your outfit with a look inspired by Disney’s first princess, Snow White? What I love most about Snow White’s outfit are those bold complementary colors and bright pops of red.

My vintage/thrifted find: high-waisted, pleated mustard yellow skirt (Buffalo Exchange, $14)

Pair it with:

• navy blue, polka-dot blouse with a neck tie

• red wedges

• sunhat with flower details

• brown belt

One of the best things about disneybounnding is adding your own flair to the character’s outfit. Personally, I love shopping at vintage shops because you never know what treasures you’ll find! You just have to have fun and be creative with your pieces to put together your look.

Pocahontas

Being part Native American, one of my favorite Disney characters has always been Pocahontas, so I was thrilled to find some pieces to recreate her outfit with a slight twist. Her outfit generally has neutral colors so they can be easy to style!

My vintage/thrifted find: brown A-line skirt (Buffalo Exchange $8) and off white sleeveless button up (Memo’s vintage $6).

Pair it with:

• Beige Mary Jane heels

• Turquoise necklace

• Your wonderful friend Meeko (optional)
