55 And Still (Fire)truckin’

There are many things at Disneyland that stand the test of time. Aside from the memories, there are “vehicles” to making those memories happen…one such being a little firetruck. August 16, 2013 marked the 55 year anniversary of the Main Street Fire Engine that debuted at Disneyland Park on August 16, 1958.

The fire engine is a replica of a 1916 model fire engine that is meant to remind everyone of the simpler times at the turn of the century just like how the rest of Main Street USA is. It isn’t any ordinary replica either as Walt Disney himself loved to drive it around before the park opened for the day.

Be sure to check out the video and learn a little bit more about Disneyland’s beloved little fire engine and if you’re at Disneyland, make sure to hop aboard and take a joy ride without having to fight a fire.
