Have tea the “Alice In Wonderland” way
Every year, my friends and I put together a themed tea party. After partying so hard the Cinder-elly way, I think it’s about time to go down the rabbit hole to explore a new realm in Wonderland. Here are some DIY ideas that you can incorporate into your own version of a mad tea party!
Items used:
Table
Food (quiche, stuffed mushrooms, deli spirals, red velvet cupcakes, cream puffs, bruschetta, Earl Grey tea)
Fine China (used with permission, but any cup and saucer will do!)
Cork bottles w/ coffee-stained “Drink Me” labels
Casino-themed paper plates and napkins
Heart-shaped glass container
Cupcake and pastry stand
Bird cage candle holder
Red table cloth
Playing cards
Silk red roses
Photo frame
Teapot
Exterior Decor
Clock (black foam core board, white construction paper, printed roman numerals and clock hands)
Garden statues (grab all of your friends! — flamingo, turtle, squirrel, rabbit, deer, etc.)
Card Soldiers (cardboard, paint (red and black), construction paper (white, red and black), wooden dowels)
Red butcher paper w/ white-painted rabbit footprints (we used about 25 feet)
Directional cardboard signs (scrapbook paper, glitter, printed letters)
Silk flowers (preferably red roses to decorate potted plants)
Paper lanterns (casino-themed, red, white, black, yellow)
Cheshire Cat smile (white cardboard, black paint)
Garland (stringed playing cards w/ red ribbon)
Cheshire Cat plush
Table and chairs
10 x 10 canopy
Potted plants
Character-Themed Outfits
Mad Hatter (mustard scarf, blue cami, green shorts, green Toms, large bow, hat)
Queen of Hearts (hand-decorated corset w/ red and yellow felt shapes and white blouse trimmings, red skirt, black knee-high stockings, black flats, crown)
Alice (white apron, blue dress, black ribbon headband, white tights, black flats)
White Rabbit (red cardigan, cream dress, belt, rabbit ears, stopwatch necklace, black sneakers)
And there you have it. Have fun and get mad! Be sure to check out our Pinterest page HERE for other inspirational ideas for your future DIY parties.
