Here are the Disney nominees for the 2016 Annie Awards.

Today is the beginning of December and once again, that means the beginning of awards season!

We also begin our award season coverage with the announcement of this year’s Annie Awards. They’re the Oscars for the animation industry and the winners tend to get nominated for Oscars in February, too. This year’s Disney nominees are up for awards in numerous categories including Best Animated Feature.

“Inside Out” and “The Good Dinosaur” have been nominated for that coveted category, as well as Animated Effects in an Animated Production. Other Disney productions have also been nominated for other awards including Pixar’s “Sanjay’s Super Team” for Best Animated Short Subject and “Disney Mickey Mouse”, “Gravity Falls”, and “Wander Over Wonder” for various awards.

Non-animated films were also recognized for their animated sequences, too. Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” also was nominated for Character Animation in a Live Action Production

We’re rooting on our Disney nominees and can’t wait to see who takes home the Annies again this year when the 43rd Annie Awards take place on February 6, 2016.
