World of Color – Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney will illuminate the night in a contemporary and moving celebration of Walt and his dream of Disneyland, showing that anything is possible if we never give up on our dreams.

Hosted by Mickey Mouse, the show will take guests on a fun-filled and inspirational journey through the unparalleled imagination of Walt Disney, exploring his decades-long legacy of memorable animated moments and the dream of Disneyland park.

The 22-minute show will be an entirely new version of the nighttime spectacular with new water and lighting effects, plus a new soundtrack.

Paint the Night

Disneyland 60 Diamond Celebration Paint The Night

Paint the Night is a new parade that brings some of the most innovative floats, vibrant costumes, dazzling special effects, unforgettable music and energetic performances ever presented at Disneyland Resort. This new, state-of-the-art nighttime parade floods Main Street, U.S.A., with 76 performers, stunning color, fun surprises and more than 1.5 million brilliant LED lights!

Reminiscent of the Main Street Electrical Parade and similar to the parade that debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland, Mickey Mouse uses his vivid imagination to harness the power of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust and “Paint the Night” in Disney dreams, bringing to light beloved characters and stories from “Monsters, Inc.,” “Cars,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Toy Story,” “Frozen” and more.

Disneyland Forever Fireworks Spectacular

“Disneyland Forever” is the new fireworks show just how magical the Magic Kingdom can be, in a sky-high celebration featuring sparkling pyrotechnics, immersive projections, and other effects that transform Disneyland park right before your eyes.

The show envelops you in an enthralling, breathtaking journey like never before, leveraging the largest installation of projection mapping technology in a Disney park and surprising special effects. Main Street, U.S.A., and several other Disneyland park locations become a magical canvas taking us into a world of dreams, from flying above the London skyline from “Peter Pan” to a dance with King Louie in “The Jungle Book.”

The new fireworks spectacular also features two original songs, the theme “Live the Magic” and the inspiring closing song “Kiss Goodnight,” written by Disney Legend Richard Sherman.

Diamond Decor and Attire Galore

Disneyland Diamond decor will fill both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park. Along with merchandise and special food offerings featuring the Diamond Celebration logo, both Carthay Circle Theatre and Sleeping Beauty Castle will have its own “crowning jewels” along with the celebratory blue color on bunting and banners.

Even Mickey and Minnie will get diamond-studded attire for the occasion!

Diamond-ized Merchandise

It is, after all, a “diamond” celebration, so you can expect some appropriate sparkly items in the shops at both parks! They’ll range from the mini yet extravagant 3D crystal castle to the traditional Mickey Mouse ear hats redesigned for the occasion.

UPDATE: Disneyland has announced a special 2-day merchandise event where you’ll be among the first to purchase the 60th anniversary merchandise! Tickets are required and can be bought by clicking HERE.

Diamond Days

Obviously, you have to have diamonds as part of the celebration and Disneyland is looking to give you actual 1 to 2 karat diamonds as just some of the prizes you can win as a part of Disneyland Diamond Days Sweepstakes.

Just like the Year of a Million Dreams promotion where prizes were awarded at random, any guest on Disneyland Resort property has the chance to win those diamonds, as well as other exceptional prizes like a private party in Fantasyland or a night in the Disneyland Dream Suite!

Food That Sparkles

The diamond pixie dust also blew its way to the foods department at the Disneyland Resort. Both parks will be receiving new edible delights that will sparkle in taste and presentation.

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will get special Diamond Celebration cupcakes, each one with a different design. Disneyland Park will get an exclusive item though – the Pomegranate Silver Sparkler from Jolly Holiday Bakery Café – that will be topped with a edible silver!

The results of doing this will very much attract those who’ve loved the California park for generations and hopefully gather a new generation to love it all the more.

“As time has shown, Disneyland marked the beginning of something bigger than anyone could have imagined and this Diamond Celebration embraces its rich history while honoring Walt Disney’s commitment to pushing boundaries to create exciting and innovative new experiences for our guests,” said Staggs.

We’ll have more information on the celebration that will start on May 22, 2015, so be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the latest news until them!
