Here’s everything you need to know about DCA’s returning Food and Wine Festival

Disney California Adventure Park is about to become a foodie destination once more! The Food and Wine Festival returns to the Disneyland Resort with lots of food, wine, and culinary demonstrations that were such a hit when the festival left in 2011.

The revamped festival will feature much of the same things from back then, but some new changes that you’ll probably want to know about, so here’s a rundown of what you’ll need to know.

There will be an exclusive selection of food and wine available only during the festival.

This year’s menu includes this Chilled Ahi Poke with avocado crème and Wakame salad, topped with sesame tuile

One of my favorite things about this multi-day event is that there were many different foods and wines that could only be tasted during the festival. This year’s tasting menu offers even more that will rival past festivals.

There will be “Marketplaces” all around DCA featuring things like Chilled Ahi Poke with avocado crème and Wakame salad, topped with sesame tuile and Apple Bacon Whoopie Pie with maple cream cheese icing and bacon brittle.

Restaurants in the park like Pacific Wharf will feature festival-inspired menu items that will all celebrate springtime in California.

It’s good to note that all these items are tasting-sized, meaning their service sizes will not be the size of a full meal. Prices will most likely be closer to the cost of a full meal price at Disneyland, so plan accordingly.

You’ll need to purchase advance reservations for any of the celebrity kitchen showcases and beverage seminars.

Disneyland Resort Signature Restaurant Chef Andrew Sutton will lead a celebrity kitchen demonstration this year

Contrary to previous festivals, guests who are wanting to take part in the celebrity chef kitchen demonstrations and the beverage seminars must purchase reservations to all of them.

The celebrity kitchen demonstrations are $99 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Annual Passholders can purchase a VIP experience for $149 per person, plus tax and gratuity which includes an autograph session and priority seating.

The demos will all be held in Stage 17 in Hollywood Land. This year’s celebrity chef lineup includes:

  • April 2 – Robert Irvine – Restaurant: Impossible

  • April 9 – Andrew Sutton – Executive Chef, Disneyland Resort Signature Dining (1:00 PM only)

  • April 9 – Guy Fieri – Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (5:00 PM only)

  • April 16 – Keegan Gerhard – Food Network Challenge (5:00 PM only)

  • April 23 – G. Garvin – Road Trip with G. Garvin

  • April 30 – Graham Elliot – MasterChef, MasterChef Junior

The beverage seminars are $15, plus tax. Wineries and other beverage companies will present their process for making their drinks, as well as offer samples of multiple beverages from their offerings.

The seminars will all be held in Sonoma Terrace at the Golden Vine Winery in DCA. This year’s beverage companies include:

  • Stone Brew Beer Company

  • Silverado Vineyards

  • Henebery Whisky

  • Karl Strauss Brewing Co.

  • Lasseter Family Winery (yes, meaning John Lasseter)

The 2016 Food and Wine Festival will be held from April 1 to May 1. All demonstrations, seminars, and food/wine offerings are subject to change without notice, but we’ll update you as much as possible on social media.
