Historic El Capitan Theatre now offering public tours

One of Hollywood’s oldest theaters offers more than just a place for watching movies now. The Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre is now offering tours of the movie house to the general public. Starting at 8:30 AM everyday, the Disney Movie Palace and Backstage Tour will take place that will give “El Capitan guests… the opportunity to learn about the history and magic of Hollywood’s premiere movie theatre in a fun-filled tour,” said Lylle Breier, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Special Events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

The 30-minute tour will include a history of Hollywood and the El Capitan, full access behind-the-scenes of the theatre, including the Sherman Brothers Star Dressing Room, named for the composers of such Disney songs as “A Spoonful of Sugar” and “it’s a small world,” an opportunity to take a photo with the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, and a full viewing of the curtain show. Additionally, an Express Tour is also offered for those on the go, which includes the history of the theatre, a visit to the Wall of Fame, and a tour of the lobby areas.

For more information on the new tours, details and options, visit the El Capitan Theatre Box Office, call 1-800-Disney-6, or download the official flyer HERE.
