Hunchback of La Jolla.

Disney Theatrical Productions aka the people in charge of taking Disney’s worlds and characters and putting them into live stage setting have been quite busy! With the announcement of the creation of “Aladdin – The Musical” just last year and set to debut this year, we’ve gotten word that another Disney world will also come alive on stage at the end of this year.

Disney’s “Hunchback of Notre Dame” musical has actually been around for about 15 years playing in Germany for an extended amount of time due to its popularity before. It closed in 2002 and rumors quickly spread that it would make it to the United States. 12 years later, that time has come.

The La Jolla Playhouse near San Diego, California will play host to the U.S. premiere of the musical adaptation beginning October 28 lasting until December 7, 2014 . The production will feature music by two top names in the industry – Alan Menken (“Tangled”, “Beauty and the Beast”) and Stephen Schwartz (“Wicked”).

Tickets aren’t available yet, but be sure to check the Playhouses’ website HERE in the Summer for information on availability and pricing.
