Introducing DisneyExaminer Currents

We’re going to be introducing another column today called the “DisneyExaminer” Currents.

It’s basically a condensed version of our old Snippet columns. What makes this column different is that the news is short and to the point! You’ll find a picture and a small caption to that picture that would be informative as well!

Although they might not be current when shown here in our Currents column, they certainly are worth noting and may in fact still be a current issue or event as you read! What you will be assured of is that these stories are important and we at DisneyExaminer want to make sure that you’re informed.

Nevertheless, we hope that the Currents will bring a smile or thought to your day.

1st Issue:

a) On Sunday, September 2, Disneyland held its annual Disneyland Half Marathon. Racers were able to run through the Parks, including the new Cars Land! Congratulations to Jimmy Grabow from “Running” Springs, California for winning the race in record time!

b) ‘Finding Nemo‘ has been re-released in theaters for a limited time – this time in 3D.

c) In addition to Finding Nemo 3D, ‘Monsters Inc.’ will return to theaters for a limited time as well in 3D on December 19, 2012.

d) DisneyExaminer has a new Twitter username! Be sure to start following us @DisneyExaminer for the latest Disney news.

e) Disneyland has begun a new “experiment” of sorts by holding Annual Passholder-ONLY Movie Nights inside the Main Street Opera House (home of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln). Although showings haven’t been publically announced, they typically take place on Thursday evenings in the early evening. Guests must sign up and vote for one of two movies with Cast Members in front of the theater.

f) Aulani, the new Disney Resort in Hawaii, will be already getting some noticeable updates after only celebrating 1 year since its opening. The expansion includes an expanded pool area and 2 new food service locations. They will open up when the Resort officially completes construction in mid-2013.

g) The awesome a capella group “Voices of Liberty” will extend their run through the Christmas season at Disneyland Park! They will also take a part in performing during the Candlelight Processional and Ceremony – a musical and verbal re-telling of the birth of Christ.

h) The very convenient 15-minute parking area off Harbor Blvd. next to the Disneyland Resort has been converted into a 3-lane drop off and taxi area. There is no longer parking available in this space.

i) Luigi’s Flying Tires attraction located inside Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park no longer has the large beach balls as part of its experience due to “cutting down guest load/unload times.” Cast Members are currently taking suggestions from guests for ideas that would replace the beach balls.

j) There are Mickey Ear Hats and then there are Oswald Ear Hats. Oswald Ear Hats are now available inside Disney California Adventure Park…particularly at Oswald’s Gas Station right off Buena Vista Street!
