CHOC Walk With Us. (with Taste of Downtown Disney Recap)

We already told you all that we’d be running around the Disneyland Resort (literally), but for those of you who’d rather walk, we will be doing that as well in a few months!

For the past 23 years, the Disneyland Resort has played host to a great event that invites everyone to talk a stroll through the Disneyland Resort in support of a great cause. Children’s Hospital of Orange County (or CHOC) has used their CHOC Walk In The Park event to raise awareness and support for children who are not having the best of days because of an illness or disease. Walt Disney, who helped establish the CHOC, also believed in giving back to the community and 23 years later, this community event continues to be a source of joy and inspiration to those who are in need of it.

Just yesterday, we had the opportunity to share in a great CHOC event that benefited the CHOC Walk for this year. The Taste of Downtown Disney event brought together many of the great restaurants at Downtown Disney, including our Partners like La Brea Bakery, for a night of food, fun, and smiles. With CHOC’s relationship with Disney (since Walt himself help start the hospital!), we know that all the contributions the hospital gets really go to the great and magic-filled care for each child!

We’ve known about this event for a few years now, but have never had the chance to participate in one until now. So I’m very happy to announce that the DisneyExaminer Staff will be taking part in the 23rd Annual CHOC Walk In The Park happening on October 13 at the Disneyland Resort! The walk itself is a 5K and will include some special Disney magic along as you walk the course. Although this walk will indeed be fun like it has been in the past, the event’s focus and our focus is on who this will benefit – the kids of CHOC and we hope to fundraise as much as we can for them by creating a team.

Yes, we’ve created an official DisneyExaminer team for the CHOC Walk and we are inviting you to join the DE Staff to participate! All that we ask if you join is to help us fundraise by spreading the word about the Walk and our team with your friends and family. We’re expecting great things from this event and are very excited and eager to not only walk that morning, but walk in support of CHOC and all the children who need it!
