KENZO brings the wild side of ‘The Jungle Book’ in an exclusive fashion collection

In celebration of Disney’s latest live-action film, The Jungle Book, Disney has collaborated with KENZO, founded by Japanese designer, Kenzo Takada, to introduce a new collection of exclusive apparel for men and women.

Known for breaking the rules in the fashion industry as well as its colorful prints and declaration of freedom, there’s no doubt that this collection by KENZO will have no problem making a loud statement, or shall I say making a, ‘roar’.

The inspiration for the prints drew from the Disney archives, specifically original sketches from the classic animated film, The Jungle Book. Notable characters such as Mowgli, Bagheera, King Louie, Hathi, Baloo, and Akela were brought to life in the form of two abundant and richly colorful jungle scenarios.

The prints will make their debut on a women’s collection of silk and cotton summer shirts, dresses, jackets and tops as well as on the men’s collection of light jackets, trousers, shorts and Hawaiian shirts.

What’s a collection without the one and only fearsome tiger, Shere Khan and Kaa the python? You guessed it, they are taking full charge by making appearances in a line of sweaters and tee-shirts such as KENZO’s traditional tiger sweater and intarsia pullover while she is featured on knitwear.

These limited-edition ready-to-wear pieces can be found exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman and KENZO.com now available today, April 7th. Be sure to check out the collection and The Jungle Book in theaters, April 15th!
