Lucasfilm launches new weekly web series dedicated to everything Star Wars

Think the world has too much Star Wars? Well, don’t kid yourself. Now there’s a weekly Star Wars show that just debuted.

It’s called The Star Wars Show and as the title goes, it’s a show about Star Wars. EVERYTHING Star Wars. From the consumer products to the TV shows the films and everything else in between, this show will talk about it all. Lucasfilm home-grown personalities Andi Gutierrez and Peter Townley will “unveil” the latest headlines from a galaxy far, far away in this new weekly seven-minute digital series.

As for the reason why they created the show, Lucasfilm has “a new hope” that you’ll turn to them for official Star Wars news. “There’s an abundance of Star Wars news and information right now and for the foreseeable future,” says Mickey Capoferri, senior director of content and programming at Lucasfilm said. “The Star Wars Show will be the place for new and old fans to engage with every aspect of the franchise in fun and authentic ways.”

Lucasfilm is touting the exclusive-ness of the show that will feature special guests, never-before-seen footage, and behind-the-scenes looks at past, present, and future Star Wars projects.

While the show will be able to drop new content exclusively, it’ll be interesting to see how Star Wars fans absorb it, if at all. Star Wars fans, especially online, still rely on other big film and fan sites to not only get their starry fix, but to discuss it all too.

You can catch The Star Wars Show episodes at 12 PM PT every Wednesday across all of the Star Wars digital accounts, including the official YouTube channel. Watch the pilot episode that debuted today in the player above.
