Make your summer magical with these Disney movie inspired adventures

There’s always a scene in a Disney movie that makes you wish you were right there with the characters. What if you could experience those same iconic Disney movie scenes while adding your own personal twist this summer?

From hiking to a waterfall to visiting a local aquarium or tide pool and learning about marine life, here are some Disney movie inspired adventures you can embark on this summer! After all, life imitates art.

Hiking to Paradise Falls with Carl and Mr. Fredrickson

Ellie always dreamed of hiking to Paradise Falls with Carl, and he never let go of that dream. Inspired by Angel Falls in Venezuela, Paradise Falls looked absolutely stunning in Pixar’s Up. Undoubtedly, there are many local waterfalls in your vicinity that you can go to.

Drive down Route 66 with Lightning McQueen

Nothing like the uninhibited freedom of driving down an empty highway in the middle of nowhere, and perhaps stopping by a sleepy little town like Radiator Springs. This summer, why not take a road trip across town, state, or country? Every one always says they wish they could hop on a plane and disappear for a while. Well, your car is the next best thing! Think of a place out of town like Vegas, San Diego, or San Francisco for a weekend getaway.

What says “Jack Sparrow” more than lying on a beach for three days and drinking rum? This summer, take a ferry boat over to the nearest island (Catalina Island is great for those in California!) and get “stranded” with friends while taking advantage of those beach-side bars.

Surfing with Lilo and Stitch

Imagine waking up and the first thing you do is surf to catch that high tide in the morning. There is definitely a surfing culture in Hawaii as well as in California and other states. Stop by one of your local surfboard shops or search online to find the nearest place you can take a surfing class!

Learning about the coral reef system with Mr. Ray

“Let’s name the zones, the zones, the zones. Let’s name zones of the open sea. There’s mesopolagic, bathyal, abyssalpelagic. All the rest are too deep for you and me to see!” Mr. Ray has got to be one of the coolest science teachers. One of the most beautiful scenes in any Pixar film is Mr. Ray taking his class on a field trip through the coral reef ecosystem. You can learn about the marine life in your area by visiting a local tide pool or aquarium.
