Marvel meets 40’s fashion: A clothing line inspired by Captain America’s era

Her Universe is a fashion brand well-known for producing apparel inspired by franchises like Marvel and Star Wars, to name a few. The brand has been featured in stores like Hot Topic, and this summer comes a new collection inspired by the first avenger himself — Captain America.

“With the 75th anniversary we were really inspired by the 40’s era and the year that Captain America was created,” said Ashley Eckstein, founder of Her Universe. “We collaborated closely with the Kohl’s and Marvel teams to create the perfect summer collection that evokes the spirit of a girl from the 40’s with a mix of modern day trends.”

Currently available online and at select Kohl’s stores, the collection combines the vintage charm of the 1940s with the casual ease of modern, ready-to-wear fashion. Ranging from dresses and rompers to shorts and knit graphic tops ($28-$48 ), the line subtly features Captain America’s emblematic shield within the fabric patterns. The line offers sizes XS-XL with select styles offering plus sizes.
