“Million Dollar Arm” promotion gives $1 million to one who throws fastest baseball pitch
We’re well into baseball season although that may mean your favorite baseball teams will take the field, that also means that your favorite sports-themed movies will also make its way into your nearest theater. For Disney, that film is “Million Dollar Arm” and features another “field of dreams” story that’ll delight a sports fan or moviegoer’s heart.
To start the promotion of the film, Disney has launched a contest a month before the film hits theaters that will hope to find someone who has a “million dollar arm” themselves. In the promotion, amateur baseball pitchers (with no previous experience) are invited to take part in one of three qualifying events at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and New York in late April where they’ll get the chance to throw their fastest baseball pitch.
The top 3 fastest pitchers from each of the qualifying events will then be flown out to the world premiere of the film on May 6 at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood where they will throw ball again in the final contest. If any of the pitchers throws a 100 MPH strikeout in that contest, they will be the potential winner of the $1 million prize.
In this contest though, everyone will be a winner as anyone who participates in the qualifying events will receive tickets to watch an advance screening of the film!

“Million Dollar Arm” will fastball into theaters on May 16, 2014.
