Showing our #DisneySide for World Down Syndrome Day [Adventures of Mommy Mouse and Baby Knightly]

Yesterday, 3/21, our very own Mommy Mouse and Baby Knightly made their way to the Downtown Disney District in Anaheim to celebrate life with so many others that share the same life that they share. Here’s a very special edition of our continuing “Adventures of Mommy Mouse and Baby Knightly” featuring the World Down Syndrome Day event!

Almost two years ago now, God answered our years of praying for a child.

Then, God surprised us with a journey we never before would’ve asked for but realize has been the most amazing gift ever – He gave us a child born with 3 copies of Chromosome 21:

Down Syndrome

To raise awareness and in honor of all wonderful people with Down Syndrome, March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day.

And we got to celebrate it with other inspiring families from the Down Syndrome Association of Orange County at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Welcome to World Down Syndrome Day – Disney style!

Hosted by Down Syndrome Association of Orange County (DSAOC) and these lovely ladies:

It was an amazing Disney day, complete with a…

Huge party-going crowd

Loving supportive families

(including ours)

Adorable huggable kids

Great food

Decked out in awesome blue and yellow (colors for Down Syndrome awareness)

And an excuse for everyone to strike a pose and show off their style for the photos

It was a blessed celebration.

Special thank you to DSAOC, the hosts Michelle and Melanie, our loving families who came, and to you our readers for all your love and support for precious kids like ours.

what is life like with down syndrome?

So what is it like to have a child with Down Syndrome?  What kind of future will they have?  This is the perfect answer.

Be inspired.

From David (Daddy Mouse):

I’ve been blessed to hear so many real life stories of overcoming incredible medical hardships, life and death situations, prejudice, social rejection, achievements and successes that bring me real faith and hope in an amazing future for children like my son.

May these stories bless and inspire you as you hear what kids with Down Syndrome have overcome and how they’ve changed the world by the age of 2.

Be inspired.  Read their stories: http://ow.ly/uNXWd

Please share the inspiration.

‘Til our next adventure! <3

With our love,

Mommy Mouse + Baby Knightly
