More Disney Magic. Literally.

Aside from the wonderful magic that occurs on land inside the Disney Parks around the world, there’s also a lot of magic happening on the high seas.

We’re talking about Disney’s 4 floating Disney Parks that come in the form of cruise ships and those cruise ships form Disney Cruise Line (DCL). Since 1996, DCL has sailed to various locations around the world bringing guests an adventure both at those destinations and while traveling to them.

Just this week, Disney announced that they’d be improving their oldest cruise ship with a whole bunch of new additions and “re-imaginations” on board.

The Disney Magic will go into dry dock in Spain beginning September 7 until October 10 to install all these new and improved experience which include:

• A redesigned Grand Atrium Lobby with “elegant art deco, inspired by elements of the sea.”

• New play areas for the younger sailors will include Marvel’s Avengers Academy located in the revamped Disney’s Oceaneer Club. It will be Marvel’s first appearance on board a cruise ship where your little crime-fighters can help stop evil by becoming an Avenger themselves in this multi-day immerse experience.

• Disney’s Oceaneers Club will also include new play areas including a recreation of Andy’s Room from “Toy Story”, Pixie Hollow where Tinker Bell and her friends will be, and the Mickey Mouse Club dedicated to all things Mouse. There will even be a new nursery for young, young sailors themed to “its a small world.”

• A new water slide experience called AquaDunk. Although not like a whole “water coaster” like on Disney Dream, AquaDunk will “drop” guests three stories and around an exhilirating slide. There will also be an interactive water playground called the the AquaLab.

• Dining on board will also be re-imagined with new experiences that include new magic coming to the Animator’s Palate restaurant where guests will be able to draw creations and see their drawings come to life around them in a new experience called “Animation Magic.”

• There will also be a new restaurant called Carioca’s (named after Donald Duck’s parrot pal), a new casual dining restaurant called Cabanas (themed after the Australian setting of “Finding Nemo”), and a newly themed setting to the adult-only restaurant Palo.

• Nighttime magic will also play a big part on board which include a new entertainment district for adults called After Hours where there will be be a new nightclub called Fathoms, a piano bar and lounge called Keys, and an Irish Pub and sports bar called O’Gills.

• The treatments given on board the Disney Magic’s spa called Senses have been revamped to offer many new indulgences.

• A new family entertainment area called the D Lounge will replace the the old area with more experiences and fun things you can do together as a family.

• The staterooms on board will gain more room for storage and living areas with more innovations coming to the already large staterooms compared to the rest of the industry’s cruise ships.

That certainly is a lot of new things coming to one cruise ship folks, but it certainly shows that Disney is committed to investing in guests’ experiences so that more magical memories can be made regardless of wherever the Disney Magic of any of their other cruise ships may be.
