“Disney IRL” brings your favorite Disney characters (like Dug!) to life

Today marks the premiere of Oh My Disney’s YouTube series Disney IRL which, as the name suggests, features your favorite Disney characters and stories in real-life situations.

The first episode features an adorable golden retriever who, unbeknownst to happy park goers, becomes Dug from Pixar’s Up. With the help of a special collar and Bob Peterson, the original voice of Dug, this furry friend surprises children and adults alike, bringing famous lines like “I just met you and I love you,” and “squirrel!” to life.

It’s not the first time Disney’s tried to translate their stories through realism – Tsum Tsum Kingdom, for example, takes famous Disney characters as Tsum and puts them in real, and often silly, situations. Tsum Tsum Kingdom, however, still makes use of computer graphics and animation, while Disney IRL is notable because it really brings Disney stories to life – in the case of the first episode, with the use of a real (and really cute) golden retriever.

Be sure to check Oh My Disney’s YouTube channel regularly for more episodes to see more of how classic Disney stories would fare in the real world.
