Runners: Assemble!

The Avengers are a strong group of individuals, so it was only fitting that they decided to create their own athletic challenge for us to participate in. Earlier today, our friends at runDisney introduced that challenge that will allow us mere humans to test our strength once again.

The Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend at the Disneyland Resort, taking place November 14 -16, 2014, is the newest running event created in partnership with runDisney and Marvel. As with all other runDisney events, participants will have the opportunity to run through their favorite Disney theme parks in what we think are the happiest races on earth. The race elements are all combined with a central theme and this newest race revolves around Marvel’s popular superheroes.

The eighth runDisney event will include the always popular kids races, a 5K, a pre-race pasta party, and a half marathon course that will be entirely different from the other half marathon courses that already take place in Anaheim like the Tinker Bell and Disneyland Half Marathons. You can expect that Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America, and Thor will be there along the course to cheer you on, as well as a bunch of other surprises that accompany runDisney races. Racers who complete the half marathon will receive an inaugural finisher medal too!

Since this race will be the first of its kind and has already gathered a lot of interest from both seasoned runners and comic fans alike, we highly suggest that you mark your calendars for 12 Noon EST/9 AM PST on Tuesday, March 25 as that will be the time when registration begins…and they will sell out fast! Costs for these races are between $20 and $195 as early rates.
